THERAPY

Reaching Out

Reaching out for support is a big step, and we’re here to make that first step feel as easy and comfortable as possible.

Once you email us or complete our online form, we will contact you to organise a free 15-minute phone call, just a relaxed chat to hear a little about what’s going on for you and what you’re looking for. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions and get a feel for how we work. If it feels right to continue, we’ll book your first session.

Your first Session

It’s important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. If at any stage you or Carrie feel that your needs might be better met by another therapist, she’ll be open and supportive in guiding you toward the right fit.

You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis or a clear “problem” to benefit from therapy. If you’re not sure whether it’s the right step, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Your initial session is 60 minutes and gives us time to explore things in more detail. We’ll talk through what’s been happening, your hopes for therapy, and begin shaping a plan that feels right for you. This can include how often you attend sessions, and the duration of your therapy. We’ll also talk through evidence-based treatment options, always keeping your goals and preferences at the centre.

ASSESSMENT

Reaching Out

Reaching out for support is a big step, and we’re here to make that first step feel as easy and comfortable as possible.

Once you email us or complete the online contact form, we’ll be in touch to arrange a free 15-minute phone call. This is a relaxed and friendly chat where you can share what’s been going on, what you'd like support with, or the kind of assessment you're seeking. It’s also a great chance to ask any questions and get a sense of how we work. If it feels like the right fit, we’ll go ahead and book your first session.

Your first Session

Your first session is 60 minutes and provides an opportunity to talk through background information, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to explore, whether for you or your child. We’ll use this time to begin developing a tailored assessment plan that aligns with your needs. If you have any recent reports, such as school reports, speech or occupational therapy summaries, or hearing and vision results please bring them along, as they can be helpful in building a clear understanding of what’s going on for you or your child.

Assessment Sessions

Assessments are completed in 1-2 hour sessions, depending on the type of assessment and the age of the client. In most cases, more than one assessment measure is needed, and these may be scheduled across multiple sessions over several weeks to ensure the best results and comfort for you or your child.

After the Assessment – Feedback and the Report

Once all assessments have been completed, Carrie carefully reviews, interprets, and compiles the results into a comprehensive report. A dedicated feedback session is then offered, where you'll receive clear, supportive explanations of the findings. This session also includes personalised recommendations, strategies, and next steps tailored to you or your child’s needs.

Copies of the report will be provided once all assessment and reporting fees have been finalised.

In some cases, additional assessments may be recommended based on the results gathered. If this is the case, Carrie will talk this through with you and explain why further assessment may be helpful.
