Funding & Fees.

Funding & Care Plans

You don’t need a referral to see a psychologist — you’re welcome to book directly and pay full fees if that suits your needs.

If you’d like to access a Medicare rebate, you’ll need to visit your GP to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan. This allows you to claim a portion of your session costs through Medicare.

If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be able to claim a rebate for psychological services. Please contact your health fund directly to check your level of cover.

Nixon Psychology also welcomes NDIS participants who are self-managed. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about how billing or support might work for you.

Fees & Payments

Fees vary depending on the service you’re seeking (e.g. therapy or assessment), so we’ll discuss this with you during your initial enquiry to ensure you have all the information you need.

Payment is required at the end of each session and can be made via credit or debit card. If you're eligible for a Medicare rebate, we’ll process your claim online after your session, your rebate will be deposited directly into the bank account linked with your Medicare details.

Please note that we’re unable to process private health insurance claims on your behalf. If you have extras cover, you may be able to claim directly through your health fund, we recommend checking with them for more information.

Cancellation Policy

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. This allows us enough time to offer the appointment to someone else who may be waiting for support.

If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or if you do not attend your appointment, a cancellation fee of 100% of the session cost will apply.

If you're unable to attend in person, we’re happy to offer your session via phone or online — just let us know what works best for you.
